OFFICE BUILDINGS
Various office buildings were designed for prominent clients in the Vaal Triangle area. The largest were the Sanlam Building in Vereeniging, an L-shaped four storey building.
Due to bad soil conditions the foundations were piled and a steel frame provided. This renders the building capable to withstand fair amounts of soil movement.
A similar construction method was used for the Quinlin Building, also in Vereeniging. This building was erected in very restricted space and in a short time, therefore no temporary support could be used. |
