Reputation with Clients:
Trinamics has a well-established client portfolio, including public- and private sector clients. Some clients still engage the company 35 years after inception. Public sector clients have varied with political- and policy changes, but no clients were lost that did not engage the company's services again after the changes. Most clients regularly re-appoint the company. We have well-established relations with Local Municipalities, parastatals e.g. Rand Water, NHBRC and provincial and central government departments e.g. Department of Water Affairs, Gautrans, Department of Housing and GDARD.
Alliance and Backup:
Although Trinamics is self sufficient, active relationships and joint ventures are established in cases where projects are too large or perceived to be too large by the client, or where expert input is required for portions of the work. The latter include environmental consultants, town- and regional planners, earth scientists, geotechnical engineers and scientists, land surveyors, transportation planners and community based projects.
Track Record:
About 60% of projects handled are municipal engineering related, varying from services for small subdivisions to complete infrastructure contracts for several townships (some more than 15 000 erven in extent). In the 35 years of the company's existence, services for more than 250 000 erven have been designed and commissioned.
The largest single infrastructure contract handled by the company was the provision of bulk infrastructure for the 15 000 erven township of Bram Fischerville for the (then) GJMC Western Metropolitan Local Council, worth R50 million. This project won the latter the Gauteng Provincial Housing Board’s “Best Local Authority of the Year” award.
Other large projects completed include water- and sewage services for the 10 000 erf Bophelong Focus Project, worth R46 million (this project won the developer the Gauteng Provincial Housing Board’s ‘Best Developer of the Year’ achievement), and the 11 500 erf Cosmo City project (in consortium with two other engineering consultancies) (this project won several awards, including the 2005 National Award ‘Project of the Year’ from the Institute of Housing and the 2006 MTN award for ‘Construction World’s Best Projects of the Year’ for Public Private Partnerships).
Current projects include internal and bulk infrastructure for the 18 000+ unit Doornkuil housing project for Basil Read, a 12 000 unit housing project in Balfour Mpumalanga, and a 10 000 unit housing project for Cosmopolitan Projects. |
